Eric's commitment to excellence led him to study jazz at the prestigious Capilano University, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of music. Not limited to just performing, Eric also has a keen interest in music composition. Meet Teacher Rebecca (Piano)
Rebecca is a highly accomplished musician and Music Diploma graduate from Red Deer College, where she completed an extensive curriculum encompassing Classical Piano, Music History, Business, Aural Skills, Music Theory, Percussion, Choir, Performance, and Composition. Her dedication and commitment to her craft are evident through her achievements.
With a broad spectrum of musical experiences, Rebecca has continuously expanded her horizons. She has pursued Classical guitar lessons and later ventured into the realm of music video development as an Artist/Music Video Developer in Calgary, AB, starting in 2021. In this role, she collaborated closely with producers, exploring new sounds, developing vocal and keyboard styles, and acquiring skills in video editing and music video formats.
During her time at Red Deer College, Rebecca showcased her musical talents through numerous performances. As a solo pianist, she engaged audiences at large and small shows, including RDC's Mostly Acoustic recitals and That's Entertainment. Additionally, she delivered a half-hour solo piano recital. She also gained valuable experience as a member of the Percussion & Choir Ensemble at Red Deer College, actively participating in organized rehearsals, stage shows, and performances at small venues.
Rebecca has gained substantial teaching experience as a piano instructor - including teaching beginner & intermediate students of all ages in piano, music theory, and technique, infusing the learning process with fun activities and creative exercises. She meticulously crafted individual lesson plans and assisted students in developing effective practice strategies.

Having devoted two decades to the Canadian music scene, she holds a recently earned Master's Degree in Music from the University of Calgary, specializing in Music Education. Her commitment to nurturing the musical talents of her students is evident, with a particular focus on teaching piano to children with autism, firmly believing in the transformative power of music for both students and their families.

Meet Teacher Charity (Violin & Voice)
Charity is a dedicated and passionate music enthusiast, whose journey in the world of music began at the age of 7 with the violin. Her early love for performing led her to stage impromptu concerts for her family as soon as she mastered playing songs.
Embracing the violin, Charity's dedication and talent flourished, culminating in her participation in the internationally touring Calgary Fiddlers during her high school years.
Adept not only as a fiddler but also as a vocalist and songwriter, Charity completed her Grade 9 Violin in the Royal Conservatory of Music, showcasing her commitment to musical excellence. Collaborating with her sister and friends, she engaged in songwriting and singing, participating in various musical groups throughout her life.
Upon graduating high school, Charity co-founded the band Meadow Drive, where she currently serves as a co-leader, lead vocalist, and songwriter. Meadow Drive boasts professionally recorded material and has become a fixture in the Calgary music scene, regularly performing at venues in and around the city.
In addition to her role in Meadow Drive, Charity contributes her musical prowess to the local folk band, The Great Grey, where she plays the violin. The band has recorded an album and graced stages at notable events such as The Water Valley Celtic Music Festival.
Beyond her accomplishments as a performer, Charity is an experienced music educator, offering both individual and group lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. Meet Teacher Laurelle (Piano & Voice)
Laurelle’s passion for music began at a young age, singing in tandem with learning to speak. By age five she was singing along in harmony to any melody.
She began her 7 years of vocal training when she was just an elementary school kid, competing in the local Cochrane youth talent festival, walking away with the awards in the finales for best performance, stage presence, original composition and often an award for the success of the trio that she sang in.
She also enjoyed opportunities such as singing in the Cochrane rodeo. Along with vocal development, she also studies piano with the royal conservatory music program and completed her grade 9 practical exam. Beyond classical piano, Laurelle has continued to take the knowledge that she learned from these fundamental years to grow her ear and play music that accompanies others in a band setting, playing keys and singing in a church band environment for the last 14 years.
When she is not working through music in a group setting, she enjoys the freedom to accompany her own voice at the piano for personal projects and expression. Music composition and having the freedom to know her instrument (both vocals and piano) have been an ongoing pursuit and it’s a regular part of her life.
Laurelle loves to see others grow in their understanding and freedom with music, guiding in the discipline of learning and helping them to determine what to develop in order for music to feel like an extension of personal expression and creativity.

Matthew's journey led him to Memorial University in St. John’s, where he immersed himself in the pursuit of an Opera Performance Degree under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Jane Leibel. Renowned for his dynamic tenor voice, Matthew is making waves as an emerging opera singer, celebrated for the richness and vibrancy of his performances.
Throughout his tenure at Memorial University spanning six years, Matthew has seized every opportunity to showcase his talent. From enchanting audiences with the Atlantic Boy Choir across diverse locales including Ontario, St. John’s, Clarenville, Grand Falls - Windsor, Corner Brook, France, England, and Italy, to collaborating with the Grammy-Award winning group, the Swingles, Matthew has left an indelible mark on the global music scene.
In addition to his remarkable vocal prowess, Matthew possesses exceptional piano skills cultivated through dedicated study and practice. His proficiency in piano enhances his ability to impart comprehensive musical education to students of all ages. Sophie's musical journey began at the age of nine as a member of an orchestra in the US, quickly progressing to private lessons and earning the prestigious first chair position in the orchestra group. Since relocating to Calgary in 2018, Sophie has been actively involved in music education, participating in various Imagine Music recitals.
In 2021, Sophie achieved the distinction of completing her Royal Conservatory Practical Level 6 violin with First Class Honours. Currently, she is dedicated to advancing her skills, pursuing through Level 8 practical and Level 9 Harmony and history certifications. With a diverse repertoire spanning Classical, Baroque, Romantic, Popular, and Fiddle genres, Sophie brings a wealth of musical versatility to her teaching.
Sophie firmly believes in the profound impact of music on a child's development and growth, nurturing qualities such as self-discipline and collaborative skills. Having embarked on her musical journey at age seven with piano lessons before transitioning to violin at age nine, Sophie understands the importance of a solid musical foundation. Meet Teacher Haena (Piano & Cello)
An accomplished Canadian cellist and pianist, embarked on her musical journey at the age of six, mastering the piano before adding the cello to her repertoire at ten. Her passion for music has propelled her to participate in prestigious festivals and competitions, garnering scholarships, prizes, and coveted performance opportunities such as the Canadian Music Competition.
A graduate of Mount Royal's Advanced Performance Program, Haena had the privilege of studying under the guidance of renowned artists like Frans Helmerson, Lynn Harrell, and Colin Carr. Her talent has graced esteemed stages, including captivating solo performances with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the Calgary Youth Orchestra, and the San Francisco Academy Orchestra.
Haena Lee holds a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music and a Master’s from the Schulich School of Music at McGill University. She further honed her skills, obtaining an Artist Diploma with the San Francisco Academy Orchestra.
From leading the flute and piccolo sections in the Cochrane High School Band to achieving her Gr.8 RCM Piano Certificate alongside the RCM Advanced Theory certificate, her dedication to musical excellence knows no bounds. Haena continues to share her musical talents, from her involvement in the Cochrane High School Jazz Band to her contributions to her church’s praise team.

Cochrane Music Academy is the brainchild of Carol Cowie, a dedicated music educator with an unwavering commitment to nurturing both students and teachers as we embark on our journey towards creating an exceptional music studio experience. Hailing from Northern Ireland, Carol's passion for music ignited at the tender age of 4, under the guidance of esteemed mentors Ruth White and Elizabeth McCausland. At 18, she ventured to Dublin, where her musical odyssey truly began at the College of Music, Dublin.
In Dublin, Carol immersed herself in the world of piano performance and pedagogy, emerging as a top graduate of her class and the proud recipient of the Frank O'Reilly Cup for Perpetual Excellence. Holding the prestigious distinction of being a Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music, London, as well as possessing a Graduate Diploma in Music Teaching from the College of Music, Dublin, Carol stands as a beacon of musical proficiency and instructional prowess.
But her musical talents don't stop at the piano. With nearly three decades of teaching experience under her belt, Carol is equally accomplished as a clarinettist and piano accompanist. Her multifaceted musical expertise enriches the learning experiences of all who cross her path.
